If I could turn back time...

Two weeks ago we sent our hard drive to a place I think in Minnesota (I forget now) anyway they are suppose to be really good. We were referred to them by Windermere's computer guy. So basically you send them your hard drive and your email address. They look at the hard drive and get whatever they can off it and then email you the files they found and how much for each file. If they find nothing then it costs you nothing. They emailed Wynden and they found NOTHING. The next step is $600 and that does not guarantee that they will find anything. Needless to say we are stopping now. One years worth of pictures lost. Sad. I wish sometimes there was a small rewind button that we could push once a year. On the positive side of things because I try to find something good out of every situation. I am behind about a year and half on each kids scrapbook and with so little of pictures to scrap, I clearly will catch up a lot quicker don't you think :) I am grateful for my blog, looking back on it I do have at least some pictures.

Deep thoughts

What I can't stop thinking about....
1. PF Changs - Wynden and I were able to go overnight to Seattle this week for a meeting he has once a month. I love this restaurant. My favorite is the double pan fried noodles they are so good. I would seriously consider moving to Seattle just so I could be closer to this place. Ok so maybe I'm getting a little carried away, but I do love their food.
2. The treadmill key - I traded our 3 times used treadmill for a washer and dryer (the front house needed a dryer), but I can not find the key for it anywhere and it is driving me crazy. I know it is somewhere, where I said to myself don't forget you put that there. Clearly with the amount of brain cells I've lost in the past 8 years due to childbirth and pregnancy I should never say that to myself.
Things that make me happy...
1. An extra 50% off the lowest clearance price at Old Navy - I went downtown with Suzanne on Thursday and much to my delight that was the sign on the door of Old Navy. I went to Old Navy in Mt Vernon on Saturday and same sign. Love it!
2. Hallie and Karlee are playing so well this morning. Hunter and Lexi are both at school and Diesel is sleeping, so this is helping me get important stuff done like this blog entry :)

Being in labor is hard work!

The other day Diesel had a doctor's appointment, so I had Josie and Gillian come stay with the kids while I ran him in for his 4 month check-up. He by the way is very healthy and growing like a weed. He is off the charts still for his height and 75th percentile for his weight. When I got home Hallie runs up to me and the first thing that she says is "Karlee sleeping" and she seems to find this very funny. My first thought was that they were playing house and Karlee was pretending to sleep. When I asked where Karlee was everyone said upstairs playing. Apparently she was playing house where she was pregnant and was going to the hospital to have the baby, which was Lexi's room. When I got upstairs, sure enough there she was on Lexi's bed fast asleep. The funny part was that she fell asleep during labor notice the baby is still in her tummy. I wish that I could had taken a nap when I was in labor with the kids :)

You know you're a Redneck if...

This past weekend we went on a road trip to Montana for Wynden's cousin's wedding reception (they were married in November and were just now able to have a party). We left at 4:00 am on Thursday and got into Missoula around 12:30 pm. Wynden and I were shocked at how well the trip went. We only stopped once and the kids behaved better than a normal trip into Bellingham :) We stayed at a fabulous hotel with a water park and breakfast buffet (what else can you ask for). We ate way too much, shopped quite a bit, and just relaxed. The reception was on Saturday. We reconnected with Wynden's Aunt Judy, Uncle Darryl, cousin Diana and family, Uncle Dick and Aunt Carla, cousin Benji, and the new bride Andrea and her husband Shaeleesh (he's East Indian). We really don't see Wynden's dad's side of the family much or his mom's side either, so it was a nice little reunion. The ride home went just as smooth, with only two quick stops. Montana seems like such an easier way of living. Wynden often times talks about moving there and how life would be so easy.

1st day preschooler

Karlee started preschool last week and she loves it. She was so excited that when I told her to hurry and get in the shower she didn't complain or anything like she usually does. We are carpooling with my friend Cheryl and her son Josh, so once a week I will only have two kids at home or two kids running errands in Bellingham...which financially could get me in trouble if I have it too easy when I am shopping :)

Cute Kids!!

Here are some cute pics. It has been a lot of fun lately just sitting back and watching Karlee and Hallie play. They play so well together (most of the time). I do often times joke about what stinkers they are (Hollering Hallie and Drama Queen Karlee), but they are very sweet most of the time and I love them so much. I am so grateful to be able to stay home with my kids. It's funny because the moment after I had Hallie I knew that we weren't done and I am so glad we had our sweet little guy Diesel, who loves his mommy so much right now. He is in the stage where if I'm not holding him he looks around until he finds me and then just stares at me. He is such a good baby.

Labor Day

On Labor Day we got to satisfy the kid in me and go to Chuck E Cheeses. It was a lot of fun. It was also very busy. I love those kind of places :)

First day of School

School started last week and we are so excited for this school year. Lexi (2nd grade) got the teacher we were hoping for (She and her husband own raspberries and Wynden use to drive the picker for them when he was in high school during the summers) and Hunter (K) got the same teacher Lexi had and we were very impressed with her before, so it looks like we will have a great year at school. It was nice to have school start and get back on a schedule. Now I can slow down a little since summer is over.

That is what the doctor told my niece as he put six stitches above her eye right below her eyebrow. We (by we I mean Hunter and Diesel) were in the next room getting stitched up ourselves. What could have happened to bring two kids ages 5 and 6 into the urgent care walk-in clinic on a bright Friday afternoon you might ask. Well we have a golf cart and we have such a good time with it. I use it to bring Lexi to the bus on rainy days and everyday when I am pregnant no matter rain or shine :) This summer we started letting Lexi and Hunter drive it. I had just let my friend Tina know how careful Hunter is when he drives it...Let's just say Hunter was not being very careful. Hunter was driving with my niece Hannah and my nephew Wally as passengers, and he was screwing around. Wally warned Hunter to watch where he was going and Hunter looked him right in the eye and said I am just as he smacked full speed into my niece, Elizabeth's Honda Accord. Did he hit the corner of the bumper you might ask, maybe barely just nick it?? No he hit it dead on. The wheels were not even turned a little. Golf cart meet passenger side back door. In his defense I guess you could say that car is normally not parked there as he usually just circles the house over and over again. Lots of screaming, lots of blood, "Am I going to die mom", and thankfully no ER trip. It could have been a lot worse. More kids could have been in the golf cart. The golf cart still runs, the Accord has a small dent, but we are all alive and well, the swelling has gone down and Hunter looks like Hunter again.

Let's not forget about the fair

I must not forget to post about the fair!!! My kids (and of course I) look forward to this all year long. We went every day except for one. We rode rides on Tuesday (thanks to Heidi for all her help), the kids loved it. We will miss you NW Washington Fair, until next year...

34 years again the world was introduced to Wynden Holman, soon to be the greatest husband and father of all time! We love you Wynden.

My Heart Aches

I am so disgusted by the news of the 10 week old who was murdered by his father. What a horrible thing to happen to such an innocent little child. I can not stop thinking about it and it actually is making me feel sick to my stomach. I am so sick of horrible things happening to little children. There are so many good people out there who for some reason are unable to have children and then you have those that shouldn't have children, but do and treat them horribly. I often times think about these people who do horrible things and think about the fact that they were a child once and wonder how they got to be so bad because they started out so sweet and innocent. I do understand that sometimes their childhood is taken away from them because of bad things that happened to them, but there are people out there who had a good life and turn around and ruin someone else's. Either way there are no excuses evil is evil no matter the circumstances.
