It always seems to come on strong at the worst possible moments.

Hold the BBQ Sauce Please!!!
A few weeks ago when Wynden's mom was here, we went to Red Robin for dinner. With Wynden's brother's kids along there are 9 children with not so many adults :) I think it is overwhelming for others dining there. Our waiter was great. He brought out fries before the meal for us to munch on and for some reason he brought some BBQ sauce for dipping. Anyway I didn't really think too much about the spot where he set it down because I was starving and so was everyone else so we all dug in. Moments later out of the corner of my eye I notice something peculiar about Diesel so I take a closer look and the little stinker did notice where the waiter had set the sauce, he had grabbed it, and was covered (so was I). Little did we know that this would not be our last situation with BBQ sauce.
A couple of nights ago we had just gotten all the kids to bed except Diesel. I usually hold him and give him a bottle, so he stays up a little later than the rest. While I was getting the bottle ready he was looking in the fridge and managed to grab a little McDonald's BBQ dipping sauce. I didn't think anything of it because I thought I would get it later after I laid him down. To be honest with you I wasn't sure where he put it. I gave him his bottle and he was pretty wide awake, so I set him down to play. Wynden and I were just watching Parks and Rec when all of a sudden Wynden says what is all over him and I look over and sure enough he had gotten into that sauce and what seems like a small container can sure go a long way. This late at night my emotions can go either way and this night I found it quite funny. BBQ sauce is not the easiest smell to get out of carpet or off your rock fireplace. Obviously Parks and Rec must have been pretty entertaining not to notice the little turkey making a mess. The Office on the other hand was quite a disappointment as far as season finales go.

You know it's a bad haircut when...
I got my hair done on Tuesday. I love getting it done, it is very relaxing. I take Lexi with and while I am under the dryer she gets her haircut. We've been doing this for a couple of years now. I remembered a good haircut story from a few years back.
When I was pregnant with Lexi, we went to Florida for a vacation. Wynden needed a haircut really bad so we went to a mall there hoping to find a cheap place. While he was getting his cut I looked at some magazines and found a shorter cut that I thought would look good. Rule #1 when you are pregnant it is not a very good idea to cut your hair short, for me anyway it makes my face look even fatter. Rule #2 never cut your hair at a place that does not speak very good English. I showed the picture to the lady and away she went. During the cut Wynden found out she was from Brazil. He served a mission there and is fluent in Portuguese, so they started talking Portuguese, having a good time communicating, and so what seemed like forever and a lot of cutting she was done. Well let's just say it was not like the picture... At all. I have naturally curly hair and without the proper cut it can be a little crazy.
Well I hated my hair, but what do you do right?! So we got home and I went back to work. A lot of people said "you got your haircut" it's cute certainly did not follow. I love it when someone points out either a haircut, a new shirt, or something, but that's it, no I like it or it looks good. That is an obvious that they don't like it right. Anyhow the first day back this is what one of my regulars said to me. First of all he was in line behind another car and as I was handing the first car their drink I looked back to see who was in line, so I could start on their drink (I had quite a few regulars memorized) and there he was his head sticking out his window and moving it side to side saying no and shaking his finger at me as well. He pulls up to the window and says "why would you cut your hair?" and then proceeds to say "if you were my wife you'd be sleeping on the couch" All I could do was laugh and thank him for his $.30 tip off of his $.70 coffee with cream and sugar.

Cheap Tickets to California
If you're interested in going to California, Allegiant is flying to Long Beach now and has a $10 each way special going today until midnight. We'll be going in October. It was nice of L to call, Wynden had already seen it, but didn't realize it was only until midnight. He was going to book it tomorrow, but will do it today. Thanks again L.

A tea party with my girls
Friday night Wynden took Hunter to a basketball game in Bellingham with his brother, so I decided to have some fun with the girls. I have been wanting to have a tea party with them for quite some time now and I knew that there would be no better time than now.
During the day I prepared some goodies and thought up a game plan. This is Lexi's dream, she is such a girly girl. I made them an invitation and it had some instruction on dress up and times. It also had a menu with options for drink: hot chocolate or apple juice.
They met me at the bar in their favorite dress or dress-up clothes. They were suppose to wear a hat or have their hair done with a pretty in it. Lexi did everyone's hair. I did their make-up and then painted toe and fingernails. We headed to the table next with all of their favorite treats. I thought Lexi was going to have a heart attack when I brought out the chocolate covered strawberries. We had a good time eating and talking. Diesel was such a good sport, it only took two suckers and a rice crispy square to put it all together.
After we were finished eating, we headed to the million smiles park for some late night play. We closed the park out at 9:00, headed home for a dip in the hot tub and made it to bed a little after 10:00.
I did pay for the late night the next day with three crabby girls, but we had such a good time that it was all worth it.

Finally...
Diesel finally got his birthday cake. We had a mini party for him on Mother's Day with my side. He was so cute eating his cake. He of course made a mess on his face, but not too bad anywhere else. I remember tubbing the other kids after, but Diesel didn't need one (which is unusual because he is my messiest eater). Two presents were placed on the ground that he kind of picked at the wrapping for a while and then big sister Karlee showed him how it is done. I could tell that he was enjoying himself destroying the paper. He got two fun toys that kept him and his sisters occupied for a while. Have I said that he is growing up way too fast...

Headlines
The Bellingham Herald had some crazy stories yesterday that I thought I'd share.
Candy tax takes effect June 1 in Washington. If you've got a sweet tooth, you need a spreadsheet to figure out whether your favorite goodie is about to get more expensive. For example, Three Musketeers will be taxed but Milky Way will not.
Starburst, Gummi Bears and M&Ms? Yes. Nestle's Crunch and Twizzlers? No. What's the difference? Basically, flour. If the candy you like is prepared with flour it will not be subject to sales tax.
-I feel discriminated against....I hate Twizzlers
Bellingham beauty supply store robbed at knifepoint.
-was it the money they wanted? Because that's the first place I would think of too...big money makers those beauty supply stores. Maybe a bad hair day if it wasn't for the money.
Silverdale school says no to 'boobies' bracelets. A Silverdale school is asking students not to wear bracelets that are intended to teach them about breast cancer. The problem at Klahowya Secondary School is the message printed on the bracelets, "I love Boobies. Keep-A-Breast.
-Not sure what to say...
Whatcom County gets $55,000 to control invasive weed at Silver Lake.
-Is this what my candy tax is being spent on. That's a lot of money for weed control.
98-year-old Kan. woman to earn master's degree. Ochs says she intends to apply for a graduate teaching assistantship in Fort Hays' history department for next spring.
-Seriously at that age going to school would be the last thing I would want to do. I look forward to hours and hours of wheel of fortune, price is right, and Seinfeld reruns. Pretty impressive if she is still with it at that age, but I can't imagine anyone hiring her. Job interview basic question "so how long do you plan to work for us?"
Vancouver may cut non-emergency medical responses.
-I didn't realize that there were anything but emergency responses...

That's Quite a Gag Reflex
Well the time has come to start spending millions on orthodontics. My sweet Lexi has the worst teeth ever known to man. She has a horrible overbite and a lot of crowding. My mom figures after all my sisters and my ortho work she bought our orthodontist's boat. I suppose it's my turn now. The first real appointment, she had to have impressions. So they shove this molding stuff in Lexi's mouth to make a mold of her teeth . Poor Lexi is gagging and dry heeving during the 2 minute ordeal. Hunter was with us. I was busy paying attention to Lexi to notice Hunter. Another assistant in the office pointed to him and asked if he was ok, so I turn and look and there is Hunter sympathy gagging for Lexi. His face all red and tears streaming down his face from gagging so hard. I was just waiting for him to throw up. I'm like come on Hunter get a grip, don't look at her if it is too much for you. We made it through with no mess thank goodness. She will start out with a wire on the bottom to try and make it so each tooth so its own space. In two years, she will be a metal mouth. I had braces for three years from 3rd to 6th grade I am so glad my teeth were fixed I had some real buckeroos for my front ones. Lexi already has such a sweet smile that hopefully we can rope those front ones in and she will have an even better one.

Where's your accent from?
We all have different quirks that makes us unique and who we are. I think that I have probably the craziest one of all. Before this week I thought that it was a in the moment type of thing, but I soon learned that it wasn't. What am I talking about you might ask. Well I have the ability when I am talking to someone who has an accent whether it be Asian, Hispanic, Canadian, you name it I am capable of taking it on. I definitely don't do it on purpose, but all of a sudden I sound just like the person I am talking to. I go from plain English to rolling my Rs or talking with a drawl. It is embarrassing, I try my hardest not to do it, but it just slips out without my control. This past week a family friend of the Holman's came to stay and she is from Canada. You guessed it, the whole time she was here I sounded Canadian. This is how I learned that I can take on an accent without talking to someone with one because the whole time she was here whether I was around her or not I spoke with a Canadian accent. I might have even thrown in an "a" once or twice. I guess I just like to make everyone feel welcome and right at home.

I swear it happened...
My grandma had to have an endoscopy done the other day and it reminded me of a funny story that Wynden and and I still disagree about.
When I was 20 (sounds like forever ago), I had a few stomach problems ranging from H-pylori to a slowly digesting stomach (comparing to a 90 year old) and the list goes on. Any way during this time I had an endoscopy done too. An endoscopy is where they put you out, spray some stuff in your mouth to open things up, and then make you swallow a small camera like device so to view the inside of your stomach. Basically similar to a colonoscopy, but not :)
The nurse that was over my procedure was a man. A big guy, who had a barbed wire tattoo around his bicep. He was really nice and could tell I was nervous. I have never been good with being put out, I wake-up sick as a dog. Anyway they did the procedure and as I was laying on the bed waking up (now this is where Wynden and I disagree, but he wasn't in the room he was in the waiting room) the man nurse came over put his hand on my arm, told me I did really good, and then kissed me on the cheek. When we got in the car to go home, I told Wynden and he was like yeah right you were just out of it still. But till this day I still say that this really happened I was still maybe a little out of it, but I swear this happened, if only I could find that nurse and ask.

Is that a compliment?
For ten years I worked at a drive thru espresso that my parents owned. Sometimes I remember things that people would say to me. Most of the time I crack up, but for some reason I don't think I will ever find what this person said to me funny. He told me that I looked like Chelsey Clinton...What do you even say back to that? Certainly not thanks. We have all seen what she looks like. I have heard several jokes making fun of the way that she looks. Is it even called a compliment if you don't think it is nice? What is the worst compliment you have ever received? I think that one tops my list.
p.s. I hope you all laughed about the Chelsey Clinton look-a-like and if you think that I do look like her or resemble her in any way I don't want to hear it. Capisce.
