On a last minute whim (sort of) Wynden and I went to Mexico last week. Puerto Vallerta was very good to us. We did absolutely nothing, but lay by the pool and soak up the sun. We had a great time. The kids did great while we were gone (at least that's what all my watchers said anyway). I read four books (Nicholas Sparks-love him) and on Wednesday Wynden was so glad I was done. He gets very jealous of my books. I was sad that I didn't save anything for the 4.5 hour flight home. We did kill the time by competing with his ipod on who could stop the stopwatch at exactly 10.0 seconds. I won of course by doing it four times in a row. Anyway I miss the sun and pool, but am very glad to be back with the kids I missed them way too much. Thanks to everyone who helped during the week you are guys are great!!

Question
How can flies survive when I smack them dead on. You would think that with how little they are such force would surely kill them. Can you tell we have a lot of flies right now. They are slowly dying thank goodness. Here's to vacuuming them out of my window sills.

A Good Friend
Isn't it funny how people come and go through your life, while some you never talk to again and others you never forget. My friend Allyson and I have been friends since the 4Th grade. We've known each other longer, but hated each other then. It wasn't until I walked into my 4Th grade class the first day of school and the only other chair was next to hers. We have been friends ever since. Even though she left the next year to Seattle and now lives in California. We can be apart for years and then get together and its as if she never left.
They came to visit in August and we had a great time with them. They have three sons, including twins. We went to the fair and on a hike. Can't wait to see them later this year when we go to California.

Preschool
Preschool started on Monday for Hallie and Karlee. This is Hallie's first year. She loved it aside from Karlee's mothering since she went last year and seems to know all the ropes and will hardly let Hallie do anything by herself.
For two days a week for 4 hours it is just Diesel and me. He still takes a morning nap, so for a while it is just me.
On Monday I had just laid him down and was going to finish my book and eat breakfast, but I first decided to finish the dishes in the sink. The last dish, a 9x13 glass pan, I washed by hand and was putting on the counter to dry when I laid it down funny and it slipped off the counter into the sink. So for the next half hour I cleaned up broken glass. Nice way to start my quiet time...idiot. Anyway I am loving the routine of school and how easy life is right now.

Question
Have you ever wondered what stay at home moms did with their time before facebook or blogging. Did they pay more attention to their kids?

Ho Hum...
Not too much has been happening lately, except of course getting back on schedule for school. I did pull a muscle in my back, which is always a lot of fun. We were at the football game last Friday when Diesel made a run for the field, so I turned to get him before he made it and I felt that feeling that I know too well.
The very first time I hurt my back I was a sophomore in high school and we were running lines in basketball. I bent over to touch the line and ouch! I went to the doctor and he said I pulled a muscle, prescribed some muscle relaxants, and plenty of rest to recover. I took a muscle relaxant and headed downstairs to my bedroom. I felt a little funny, but that's what meds do to me that is why I try to never take them. I slept in that morning planning to go to school late. I got up went into the bathroom and looked in the mirror and what a sight! I looked like I had gained 100 lbs. My face was huge. At first I was like am I still sleeping and then I thought oh my goodness have I always looked like this and I am just now seeing my true self for the first time. My mom was sitting in her chair reading the paper and having her morning coffee and I said "mom what is wrong with my face" she pulls her paper down and takes one look at me and starts cracking up. I was almost in tears and she couldn't stop laughing. I eventually joined in assuming this was not permanent. Apparently what had happened was I had an allergic reaction to the muscle relaxants and was very lucky to be alive. My face and neck were swollen about half an inch away from killing me. (the picture is from me taking a picture of it I have no scanner) My face was like that for a week and when the swelling finally went down my skin was all scaly and the top layer peeled off. How's that for hot.
Anyway I did go to the doctor for a referral (just love Group Health) for physical therapy and massage, but I had to wait 3 days for the approval and then the pt didn't have an appointment available until next week. I'm glad that my back will finally receive the care it needs by the time it feels better.

NA NA NA NA NA NA YOU SAY IT"S YOUR BIRTHDAY.
Look who is 35 years old today. We are getting older. The other day I saw an old classmate in a parking lot and said out loud "there's Shelby" and Lexi's like "who's that?" So I explained that I use to go to school with her, she was in my grade. And Lexi says "You still remember her?" WOW! I'm like it wasn't that long ago. She disagreed. So Happy Birthday Wynden. We love you! p.s. The title of this post is something a guy sang to a girl in a movie (it's one of my favorites
believe it or not) tell me the movie and rest of the line and I'll think of something clever to give you. The first one right wins. Good luck.
