If you miss the sun, then go to it.

And that is just what we did. We left on Thursday for Cancun and came back a week later relaxed and ready to take on life again. I know, I know I am very spoiled.

The beach collected a lot of seaweed so this was their way of slowing it to shore. Huge nets filled with sand. It was really fun trying to get up on them. You had to wait for a big wave and then dive up with it and and pull yourself up a very slippery surface.

One of the 8 restaurants within in the resort (not including the four buffets) Brazilian style buffet. You get the salad bar stuff yourself and then they bring all the meats around to your table. You have a card on one side is red and the other is green indicating when you want the meat to start and when you want them to stop bringing it.

On Wednesday (the day before we left) we went to the beach and fried! The sun is obviously a little strong by the water.

The pool water was very very cold! If I had one complaint about the resort it would be this.

Wynden played on the laptop or ipod touch the whole day while I read my books.

The maid trying to get a tip the day before we left.

Our very own private jacuzzi tub right outside our room.

I never want to do that again!

Last weekend I was so sick. I woke up Saturday morning with the stomach flu. Let's just say it was not pretty for about eight hours. I was left so weak it took me until Wednesday to get most of my strength back. I lost about 8 pounds that weekend.
The night before I got sick I went out to dinner with some girls I play basketball with. After dinner we went to a Mexican restaurant to watch some karaoke. I haven't laughed that hard for a long time (EB). I had such a good time. I didn't get home until almost midnight. Wynden couldn't believe I didn't call to check in, but I didn't realize how late it was. I don't drink, but I know that I was way sicker than any of the people at karaoke who were drinking that night. Wynden claims that was my punishment for staying out so late :)
Lexi was sick on the Monday before I got sick so I half blame her and I half blame Hunter. We were in the car driving along after I picked them up from school he was starving and started getting all the leftovers out of his lunch. He put his grapes on the armrest between us, so I of course started munching on them. We got home, changed for basketball practices, and continued driving to our destinations, so I continued eating the grapes. When I was almost done with the bag Hunter was like "You're eating those grapes and they fell on the ground." I was like REALLY!!! I ate how many before he noticed and decided to tell me that they fell out of the bag in the cafeteria so he picked them up off the ground and put them back in the bag and then back into his lunch box instead of throwing them away. I'm surprised I didn't catch every illness know to man off the floor of a school's cafeteria. It was comparable to me saying to 100 kids I'm going to open my mouth and I want you to spit in it. Well maybe not that bad, but that was how grossed out I was.

Don't blow away!!

I hope everyone is surviving this snow. I'd post some pictures of my kids playing in the snow and how cute they were, but my husband stole my memory card. I guess you will have to wait.

Diesel's year in review

Diesel had a good 2011. He started talking more and we are finally starting to understand him a little better. He still has a binkie or a meme as he calls it. I tried to take it away a long time ago (I even started a blog post about it), but he started to suck his thumb, so I decided that the binkie would stay, so I wouldn't have thousands in orthodontics like I do with Lexi right now. He is potty trained now, so I feel a little better about the binkie because at least he's a big boy on the potty. He was super fast and easy. I always psych myself up for something more than it is. Crazy to think that I am done with diapers. I actually love this stage for Diesel. He is so funny and entertaining. He cracks us all up and his older siblings adore him. I can't wait to see how much he's grown this time next year.

Hallie's 2011

Hallie had a good year last. She did a lot of growing both physically and socially. She went to preschool for a full year with Karlee, so I was nervous about whether or not she would go by herself and sure enough she does (thanks to a wonderful teacher). This was a big deal for Hallie, it seems like she doesn't do anything without her big sister. Hallie is so fun and cute. She is always giving compliments. I am hopeful that she continues growing and proves she is ready for Kindergarten in the fall.
