Who's the crazy one here?

A few weeks ago I took the kids to the free movie at the mall. Since I was already in Bellingham, I thought I would go to Deals Only to get some cheap pectin (I had berries waiting for me to make jam). I have never been to Deals Only before, so I had no idea what I was getting myself into. The kids and I got out of the car and by kids I mean my 5 and Darin's 4 and went into the store. WOW! Clutter everywhere. I was already regretting my choice as soon as we were in there, but too late. As I looked around, I was like oh my there are some pretty crazy people in here. I told the kids that they could each spend one dollar. The candy isle is huge and there was a lady stocking the shelves, so there was like no room at all. They took forever and after threatening them I finally got them to go so we could get my stuff, I wanted some chocolate chips too, I had already grabbed the pectin. As I was walking through the isles, I kept thinking to myself this is quite the trashy store and so are the people here. One guy hit Karlee on the head with his basket and another lady just stood there and glared at the kids until they moved I'm like "excuse us" that is all you have to say is "excuse me" and I promise then they will move. We bought our stuff and left the store. My biggest laugh was on the way home when I was thinking about the store and then realized I'm pretty sure that most those people were thinking I was the crazy, white trash lady there with a baby asleep on the shoulder of a 12 year old, a two year old so tired that she was having a melt down at the check out over her candy, and 7 other kids besides. I guess I should be a little slower at judging others shouldn't I.

Not me...Couldn't be. Then who?

Growing up I still get a kick out of remembering how my dad would never admit when it was his fault or that he did it. He would look frantically for something only to to ask "girls what did you do with my..." We would all look at him strangely and one would usually end up saying "dad I have no idea where the spark plug is or what it even looks like for that matter." Eventually he would find it right where he left it.

There are many other stories I could share, but getting to my point, yesterday I took the kids and two of my nieces to the mall for the free movie (I love Kung Fu Panda). Everything went fine and we came home, got out of the car and I vaguely remember (it actually took a lot of thought to remember) hitting a button as I was getting out of the car. I got all the kids inside and then preceded to clean out the car from our outing. I left a few things inside of it and headed back in. It was nap time and so I was starting to get ready only to find that Hallie, who rarely wets her pants, did indeed. Then Diesel needed a diaper change and was not very cooperative. I went outside to get Diesel's pack and play, which I had taken to my mom's (she watched Diesel during the movie), to find the doors locked and the keys inside. Well I definitely wasn't happy letting the kids know that someone locked the keys inside the car. I kind of had a funny feeling though that the finger should be pointing at me, but I was not in the mood at this point.

You see Diesel still sleeps in the pack and play in the office. So the nap time that I was looking forward to getting some things done during was questionable in my mind. I decided to sleep him in the crib that Hallie only takes naps in and sleep her in my bed. Diesel of course screamed bloody murder for a while because of the unfamiliar setting, but he eventually fell asleep. Hallie fell asleep right away and actually was sleeping forever when I thought I better check on her and when I finally did she was sitting up in my bed saying "I'm all wet" Oh great twice in one day and on MY bed. It costs $40 to dry clean our down duvet.

Now remember that pack and play is still in the car and after a while of not finding the spare set we call Berk's towing that also unlocks car doors, but he couldn't get to it until the morning. Diesel falls asleep for the night on Wynden, so far so good, without waking him we lay him in the crib. Perfect until 2:00 when he obviously figures out where he is and will not go back in there without possibly waking the neighborhood. So there we lay in a bed half made with different bedding and Diesel laying sideways between us the rest of the night. And it all adds up to my fault darn it.

Doesn't she just look precious!!!

She better this little tutu cost me $40.00. The most money I've ever spent on a one time use besides my wedding dress. I'd show you the video of the recital, but my five-kid brain was working overtime when I deleted it off my camera by mistake. oops.

Are those shape-ups you're wearing?

A few weeks ago I received a cortisone shot in my foot. I was told that I had to wear shoes like shape ups for two weeks. Fortunately I found some knock offs at payless shoes in the mall. Instead of paying $100 I paid $40. Feeling a little foolish wearing these shoes I wore them everywhere with no choice. Little did I know that I would fall in love with them. They are absolutely divine. They are so comfortable. I use to not be able to jog because I could literally feel my back breaking with each step, but now you should see me go :) After my two weeks were up I realized that this shoe is the only shoe that doesn't hurt my feet anymore (I'm not sure if the cortisone shot helped me or hurt me more). I'm not the type who likes to wear tennis shoes unless I am working out, so I went and got me some tone-ups (from Fred Meyer) that are like a slip on type sandal. Life is good.

Happy Birthday Hunter!!!

Seven years ago today, my first son was born. With Lexi labor was quick and easy, afterwards I said "that was it?", but with Hunter I knew what people were talking about I felt the pain. He was well worth it though :) Happy Birthday Hunter.

What Are They Thinking...

I dedicate this post to all the crazy people out there.

-The other day I was in a store checking out when the lady in front of me bought some cigarettes. They were over $8.00 for the pack. I could hardly believe it. That is a lot of money for something that is so disgusting first of all and second of all can eventually lead you to a painful horrible death. I do find it funny when I see people smoking and I know they think they look so cool and I think LOSERS!

-So what is up with putting a huge hole in your ear. I cannot believe how often I am seeing this lately. I guess I just don't get the point of it. It looks disgusting. I throw up a little in my mouth every time I see someone who has this. There is no tribal tradition for the people I see doing this. Don't you people know that our ears and noses never stop growing. So when you are old and gray you will have a huge ear with a huge hole in it and your grandchildren will be embarrassed to know you.

-Have you ever read the comments of some of the articles on bellinghamherald.com? These people are some of Whatcom County's finest. I think loser comes to mind every time I look at the comments. One lady was even bright enough to write a letter to the editor asking when everyone was going to stop talking on their cell phone while driving now that it is a law. Good one lady! You should see some the comments she got :)

-I have thought for all my life that I didn't like pico de gallo. A month ago, I was at a little gathering and we were all starving waiting to eat when they put out you guessed it some chips and pico de gallo. A friend of mine, who was just being nice, got me a big plate full. I hated to waste it and didn't want to seem ungrateful so I thought what the heck and tried a bite of it. Oh my goodness it was so good! I can't believe I have been avoiding this stuff for so long. We went to Mexican on Friday and for the first I didn't tell the waitress to take it back. My mom always said you'll like different things when you're older. I don't want to be "older", but I am glad to have found out how much I love my pico.

These are a few of my favorite things

My favorite restaurant right now is...

Hearthfire. I love this place. If you go M-F between 4 and 6 pm they have an early bird 3 course dinner. Their caesar is to die for. My main course choice is either the flank steak or the penne pasta. Then my favorite part is the burnt cream for dessert. Love it!

My favorite TV show right now is...

The Bacholorette. We didn't watch this show for quite some time, but got hooked on the last one (poor Jake and Vienna). This one with the guys fighting over her is hilarious. Roberto would be my choice :)

My favorite store is...

Macy's. I am still a sucker for those one day sales.

My favorite candy...

We still have leftover Easter candy...with five kids you tend to get a lot of candy with each candy bearing holiday. I can't get enough of the malted whopper eggs. I think I have ate the last of them unfortunately.

My favorite cleaned item...

My car. I detailed it pretty good a week ago and I am proud to say that I can actually put a cup in the cup holder for the first time in years. No more embarrassing moments when the drive-up worker hands me the drink and I struggle to find a place for it, only to have it spill all over on a bad turn later.

My favorite thing to make for dinner right now...

Taco soup. Easy and oh so good. 2 cans of each thing you want in it and some ground beef. I use 2 cans of Mexican stewed tomatoes, 2 cans of corn, 2 cans of kidney beans, 2 cans of black beans, 2 cans of green beans put some corn chips on top and you're good to go.

My favorite song...

You got it! Miley Cyrus's Party in the USA. I love to sing along with this song and I love to dance to this song. Judge me I don't care. Feel free to listen it is posted below this one.
