Road trip

It's that time of year again.  Spring break!  I decided that it would be fun to drive to my sister's house in California again this year.  We leave tomorrow.  The kids are really excited, I am too, but I wish I were feeling better.  What started out as a sore throat turned into pneumonia.  I have felt pretty lousy the last few days.  I totally feel way more sorry for people with asthma, allergies, or any other medical problem that makes it hard for them to breathe.  I have had a hard time breathing lately, especially at night and it is very scary.  For a person who is claustrophobic, like myself, having a hard time breathing can be pretty crazy.  I am starting to feel a little better since I started antibiotics, so I am hopeful by tomorrow I will be close to normal.

While we are in California we are planning on going to six flags again (we will miss you Vashti), checking out San Francisco, and spending a lot of time out in the sun by the pool, hopefully the weather cooperates.  The kids love my sister, she spoils them rotten.  Looking forward to our vacation, I hope every gets to do something fun this break.

This year for some reason I got into the spirit of St. Patrick's day.  For breakfast I decided to make the flapjacks green and the kids got such a kick out of it I decided to go all out for dinner. I dyed everything green and then our veggie selections were green including broccoli and salad.  The kids thought it was cool.  It is harder to tell when the rolls are done them being green and all.  I thought I burned the first batch, but they were just right.  This seemed out of character for me, usually when it comes to food I am just plain Jane....maybe I'm getting older or hopefully just wiser.

The Help

Well I finally read The Help.  It was pretty good.  I loved being able to talk with their slang while I was reading it, it gave me something to do.  I kind of wonder who I would have resembled in the book.  Now to try to find something else to read.  Any suggestions.

Rest and Relaxation

Some might not think you could do that in Las Vegas, but I sure did.  Wynden had a convention last week there, so I went with him.  I seriously left the hotel to eat and that is all.  I was either at the pool or in the room.  This is it for pictures.  We had to go to a dinner one night for the convention and this was the entertainment.  We had a great time and I caught up on some much needed sleep.
