Hunter's life story

From the mouth of Hunter at the breakfast table. "Mom, when I was 5 I was a boy, when I was 6 I was a geek, Now that I am 7 I am a stud. When I'm 10 I'll be a man. When I'm a grandpa I want to be like the Up (movie) grandpa. I can't wait for life's adventures."

About me...

Low on blogging ideas for this week so I just thought I'd give you an up to date on me :)

Favorite Show: Modern Family - seriously makes me laugh so hard. I love it!

Obsessions: Trying to beat Suzanne's high score on our wii sports resort basketball 3 point challenge (don't find too much pleasure in this Suzanne I am close!)

Favorite snack: Veggie chips...No explanation for this one. Suzanne's mom brought them once for a get together at our house and I can't get enough of them ever since. Thanks Julia.

Weaknesses: The computer - I am obviously on it right now. Any questions. I guess it could be worse (I don't facebook on MY own account)

Hobbies: Playing basketball - I just can't get enough of it right now. My body certainly reminds me when I try to get up that it isn't as young as it use to be and it is feeling all the activity.

Also three of my kids are on a team right now, so our Saturdays and weekdays are filled with running them around right now. I seriously had a duh moment when I signed Karlee up. She wants me to hold her hand the whole time, yeah that works while playing basketball. I figured out that I just have to remind her that she wanted to play and unless she plays and has fun she can not do any sort of gymnastics or dance ever again. Tough love right.

Favorite movie: I took the kids to see Tangled - loved it. As far as all time favs I'd have to go back to the 80's just pick one I love them all. Molly Ringwald, Patrick Swayze, Sarah Jessica Parker...

Favorite restaurant: Hearthfire - they have a m-f 4-6 early bird dinner that gives you three courses for $16.95. It is the best!

Favorite store: Still a Macy's girl.

When I'm not on the computer: I am cleaning and organizing like crazy right now. Even though most of the time my cleaning efforts are hard to notice as it seems like I go in a circle when the kids make a mess I clean it just to turn around to find a new mess. I did clean our garage though (pictures to come).

Wishful thinking: I wish I could get caught up on scrapbooking. I was on such a good run, but Karlee hasn't been picking that during naptime (games and the wii has been her choice lately for our naptime dates).

There you have it me right now in a nutshell.

Have you ever wanted something so bad...

I was in love when I spotted this coat I can't stop thinking about it. The price wasn't bad, it was around $25. The only problem was that there was only one coat left and it was a size 12 girls. Unfortunately I was in Gymboree. I wanted it for myself. I even tried it on (hopeful) and couldn't even get my arm in the hole. I only would need to lose about 60 pounds and I bet it would look great. I might look a tad bit deathly, but the coat for sure would fit. I wish that some of the clothes and shoes that I find for my girls were made in my size. I would sure spend a lot more money if this were the case :)

What were they thinking????

-A lawyer for a Lynden man charged with temporarily blinding the crew of a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol helicopter during a mission last fall says he shined a spotlight at the helicopter out of curiosity. *He first claimed it was because he was mad because they fly above his house all the time. Just like I flip police officers the bird when they are behind me because they make me nervous. NOT

-A former three-term Lynden city councilman and Lynden Christian Schools bus driver was arrested last week for allegedly promoting prostitution on a Whatcom Transportation Authority bus he drove in December. *I guess it it a recession. He was trying to work two jobs at one time. Bus driver by day pimp by night.

I bet they are thinking the words from a popular Cher song about now "If I could turn back time..."

Math is more my thing...

Lately my spelling and grammar when I post have been embarrassing. I try to reread and make sure that I didn't make any errors, but I have been horrible. Thanks to Courtney for pointing out my waste versus waist mistake. Pretty disgusting if you if you didn't notice the spelling error. Hopefully everyone just laughed that one off. Then I commented and put look instead of like on someones blog post. So instead of looking like too big of an idiot I commented again making fun of myself, but to top it off I must have hit the post comment button twice. I always laugh at people who do that. I think I finally have the definitely and defiantly figured out. I guess the longer I am out of school the worse it is going to get. I always thought math was my stronger subject until Lexi brings her homework to me and I have to google some of the terms just to remember what they are and she is only in the 3rd grade I am going to have to hire a tutor just for me when she gets to the middle school.

Blog Stalker

I admit it, I stalk a few blogs. Some of the people I've told, but there are some girls that have no idea that I read theirs and would probably wonder why since I don't know them that well, but I think it is funny to read their blog (maybe I have too much time on my hands). What's crazy is seeing these girls around town and feeling like I know them really well. I know how their Christmas was or how Tommy broke his leg or what they ate for dinner last night. I feel like I should see how their cat is doing after it's leg got run over, but since we don't really know each other too well it might be kind of awkward. I know how I feel when someone I don't know that well says that they came across my blog I instantly think what have I been writing lately? Was I funny or lame? I hope it wasn't dumb. Anyway random blogging thoughts. Do you feel funny like you know their secrets if you read their blog and they don't know you read it.

Sweet Hallie Sue

The other day in the hot tub Wynden was talking to the kids and seeing how they were doing. He asked "how's your life are you happy?" Anyway not thinking to much about it or even how they would ponder the question. Hallie ever since has been so funny by saying things like, "daddy my life is so sad I hurt my foot" or "my life is so happy I found my book" She can be just so darn cute.

To boot or not to boot

Well I booted. Sometimes it takes me a while to fall in love with different fashion trends. I don't mind them on other people, but I am always a little more apprehensive on how they look on me. Take capris for example, I didn't like capris on myself for a good three years after they got popular. Now they are all that I wear during the summer. Maybe it was because of the nickers my mom made me wear as a child that I look at and think boy did I look like a freak.

Well when boots became popular I thought I will just stick with my mary janes, but then I saw some on a girl in California and they were so cute (more my style of boot). I wish I had asked her where she had gotten them so I could have done something else with my time for the last two months of looking online and in stores. Anyway I did find some that I like. They are sketchers tone-up boots, so I can actually wear them and be comfortable in them. I had them for a good two weeks before I got the courage to wear them. This picture I had Lexi take because I was going to email it to C to see if she thought I looked OK in them. Wearing boots gives you a whole new attitude.

I feel younger for some reason. I wonder how a different style of boot would make me feel. Do your boots give you attitude?

The Big D

It is hard to believe that Diesel will turn two in a few months. My baby is getting too big! He thinks he is way older than he is. He stopped sitting in a high chair months ago because he refused and it wasn't worth the fight. He is a pretty happy guy, who has a ton of energy. He loves candy and out of nowhere will turn up with a sucker in his mouth while I stand there in awe trying to figure out where he found it (I know I know we have a lot of candy here, bu it's suppose be in the pantry). He eats more than all his siblings if you can get him to sit there long enough. He is a big daddy's boy right now, which is great except when Wynden needs to leave for work. He tries to be the family clown, which is very entertaining. The older kids just adore him and he knows it. Hopefully this year will be accident free, one can only hope.

Happy New Year!

New Year's resolution #1 - send out Christmas cards this year. This was the second year in a row we missed. I'm still thinking on the others and with my age one is probably all that I can remember.
